Jason Crane Did Two Laps. You’ll Survive! | Register for the 500 West Presented by GoPro at Mesquite MX March 14

Time is running out to register for the Vurbmoto 500 West presented by GoPro at Mesquite MX, just outside Las Vegas, NV, on March 14.

A few thing to remember as we near the race: 1) YOU MUST pre-register. I know, I know. Most people are used to just showing up on race day, signing up, and racing. DO NOT DO THAT. You and your team MUST pre-register for this event. 2) Some of you have probably seen some clips online and thought “Man, that looks way too hard?” First, don’t be a baby. Second, Wes Williams came straight off the couch, hadn’t ridden in years, has a back of an 80-year-old and did 9 laps. No, it is not easy, but if he can ride nine laps and Jason Crane (have you seen him on a dirtbike?) can complete 2 laps, you will be fine.

What is the 500?

The most fun you’ll ever have at an event. A day spent with the boys (and girls), riding an epic course, talking smack and enjoying time on your dirtbike. And it is also: Part off-road, part moto, all fun! An 8-hr and 20 minute (500 total minutes) Fundurance race that combines two tamed down moto tracks, a 5-6 mile off-road loop, and a hard enduro section (don’t worry, we have a Scaredy Cat Lane), averaging 17 min lap times. This race isn’t about lap times or gate picks. It’s about hanging out with great friends, riding your dirt bike and enjoying some laughs.

STARTING ORDER IS IMPORTANT: We only have limited spots left and your pit is your starting position. For example, all 01 pit locations will start first, followed by the 02 locations, and so on. Want to get a jump on the competition, better be near the front.

As of Feb 22, Rows 100, 200, 300 and 900 are sold out.

Solo: We have added 3 spots for all you crazies that want to take this mission on by yourself.

Row 400: 2 spots remain

Row 800: 5 spots remain

Limited spots remaining on the following rows: 500, 600, and 700.

CALLING ALL INDUSTRY FOLKS! We have a couple spots open, so if you want to compete at a very special price, email [email protected] and he will get you dialed.

This event has sold out the last two years and you MUST pre-register if you want to race as your Pit Location is your Entry Fee for the event. If you did not select and pay for a Pit Location, your registration is not complete. REGISTER NOW!

Payout!!!

NEW for 2026. We have ditched the pro purse. This year, ANYONE can win. How does it work? Show up, complete the most laps, and you (or your team) will be taking home $1,000.

That’s not all.

$500 to 69th Place

This is where late-race strategy will come in. Sure, we could have given $500 to second place, but that is no fun. Instead, it will go to the team or individual who finishes in 69th place.

It’s pretty simple: Show up, get 69th place and your team will be $500 richer.

That’s not all.

Introducing the Prospect Fast Lap Challenge

We introduced the Prospect Fast Lap Challenge at our Vurb Classic where Carson Brown challenged EVERYONE! While Carson won’t be making the 500, the Prospect Fast Lap Challenge will.

Here is how it will work: On six specific laps, the Vurbmoto Prospect app will be charting the racer on the course during that lap. If that racer sets the fastest lap during that lap, your team (or you) wins the money. It’s that simple… kind of.

This will also involve strategy, as you’ll need to 1) download the Prospect app and be following along and 2) strategizing on who to send out during those laps.

Prospect Fast Lap Payout Laps:

Lap 2 – $100
Lap 10 – $100
Lap 15 – $100
Lap 19 – $300
Lap 20 – $100
Lap 22 – $300

That’s not all.

First Lap Leader

We said at the start that pit selection would be important as it would determine your starting order. Well, now it got even more important. We will be giving out $250 to the team that leads the first lap… and that purse could continue to grow.

How? We will also be raffling off spot #500, meaning you get the actual number 500 for your bikes, and also the most advantageous pit (and start) positioning in the entire paddock.

What’s that have to do with money? Well, 100% of those raffle dollars will go back into FFL and maybe a few other prop bets we have up our sleeves.

Our panel of sophisticated judges, also known as the Winners Take Y’all podcast crew, will decide how exactly that money gets divided up, and exactly how stupid our prop bets can become. You can buy as many raffle tickets as you desire at registration (and/or our merch booth) and then we’ll pull the winner during the Rider’s Meeting on Friday evening.

IMPORTANT FOR 2026:

A new starting procedure. Pit #500 goes first, then the starting order continues as follows:

1. X01 Pits: 901, 801, 701, 601, 501, 401, 301, 201, 101
2. All X02 Pits
3. X03, X04, X05, X06 … through X25

All pit locations will have variable pricing based on:

* Pit location
* Starting order
* Your Pit Location is your Race Entry Fee for the event. If you did not select and pay for a Pit Location, your registration is not complete.

Riders are not required to pit. If you want to torture yourself with multiple laps, you can skip pit lane.

When pitting, you will ONLY go down your respective pit lane (see map above). Also of note, all pit lanes will be a mandatory 10mph speed limit. Riders breaking the speed limit will be subject to disqualification.

The Cost

This event is capped on number of entries and sold out the last two years.

There are no split payments – the team’s entry fee and any additional costs must be paid in full during online registration.

Your Pit Location is your Entry Fee for the event. If you did not select and pay for a Pit Location, your registration is not complete. We suggest signing up and then forming your team.

Team riders will check in onsite at the event.

Up to 4 riders per team starting at $400 (depending on your selected pit location)

$200 for Solo riders

Teams members can ride their own bike or share a bike or bikes. The only rule is you MUST have your transponder attached for each lap or you won’t be properly scored. If pitting and switching bikes, you MUST swap transponders.

EVERY team is eligible for the purse payout in 2026, so starting order WILL matter. Details on purse coming soon.

If you have questions, let us know at [email protected] and we’ll get you dialed.

The 500 West would not be possible without GoPro, FMF, Michelin, Moose Offroad, Z1R, Yamaha and MotoSport.
