It’s Official: Carson Mumford to Fill-In at Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki

Well, we finally have official conformation: Carson Mumford is headed to Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki to fill-in for the injured Austin Forkner, who sustained a torn ACL and damage to his MCL, PCL and meniscus at the Monster Energy Supercross opener at Anaheim 1.

Mumford, who rode for Team Green during a period of his amateur career, began the season with BarX Suzuki, but announced he was leaving the team earlier this week.

Mumford, who is coming off a pre-season wrist injury, will began his fill-in role in the 250SX West Region at Oakland Supercross (rescheduled date) on Feb. 18 and race the remainder of the West Region with the team.

“I’m grateful to Mitch and the whole Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team for offering me this opportunity. It’s a huge privilege to line up on the gate with the support of the most proven team in the paddock and I’m more motivated than ever to show what I’m capable of on the racetrack. The plan is to take a couple of weeks to adjust to everything with the team before we line up in Oakland. I’m excited to line up on the KX250 and I’m looking forward to what we can accomplish together when the gate drops.” – Carson Mumford
