Hunter Lawrence and Justin Cooper Penalized at Ironman

The penalty report for round 11 of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross at Ironman has been released and in addition to the penalty for 450 rider Jason Anderson, which we detailed here, both Justin Cooper and Hunter Lawrence were docked two championship points in the 250 Class.

Per the report, both riders were docked for “Jumping on Wheels flag section 10” in the first moto. Hunter finished third overall on the day, while Cooper finished sixth overall.

“I got docked in the first moto, but it is what it is,” Hunter said in a press release. “It was a tough second moto—it’s not easy when you’re not getting starts, because the top guys just get away so easily. We’re still carrying some good momentum, so we’ll have a good week of recovery and then come out swinging at Pala.”

Despite the penalty, Hunter is still technically alive in the 250 championship race. He sits 48 points back of his brother Jett with 50 points remaining, which yeah…
