Dean Wilson Wins Appeal, Extends Points Lead in Australian Supercross Championship

Dean Wilson racked up another 1-1 night in the Australian Supercross Championship over the weekend.

This one wasn’t without controversy though.

Dean initially received a 5 position penalty imposed by Clerk of Course for jumping under red flag, which would have given Luke Clout the overall win. But after a successful appeal, Wilson won the overall via 1-1 finishes, his third straight perfect night to begin this year.

“1-1 in Sydney @ausxsupercross 🍻🇦🇺,” Wilson wrote. “Little drama at the end with Red Cross flag but we showed evidence that it wasn’t out when I passed the flagger and we won the appeal. Happy days. Thank you all for the support.”

Through three of five rounds Wilson holds a 30-point lead in the championship over Cedric Soubeyras.
