Cole Thompson was doing so well recently (I think).
He’s been on his best behavior since joining Team Solitaire in Monster Energy Supercross the past couple of seasons and it seemed like his days of spicy riding and takeouts were behind him (again…I think).
At least I thought so. (See?)
I’m not totally fluent in Thompson drama, but I know he’s had some follow him around, mostly in the Canadian Nationals, but I’m not going to pretend that I truly know all of it, heck I barely know any of it. I frankly don’t care to follow it to be completely honest. I know that he has taken out Hunter Yoder and Derek Kelley recently, but that doesn’t sway me in any direction. I’m just reporting the news here…okay?
Thompson has been racing the Australian Supercross Championship for the Boost Mobile HRC Honda Team and over the weekend he took two of his teammates out in the same corner!
Yep, Shane McElrath and Brodie Connelly stood no chance when the Thompson train came a choo-choo-in.
Connelly had another run-in with Thompson as well I believe. I saw a photo that looked like a pretty good takeout.
Jackson Richardson has a perfect rundown of the situation on his Instagram. These boys aren’t scared and the Instagram beef is what makes it even better. I personally love when rider’s wives get involved in the social media fights. It always delivers.
Like it never makes sense to me…
“Oh, my perfect, sweet husband made himself look like an idiot on the track (whether he meant to or not) and now I have to make him look worse by fighting his battles for him”.
It’s GOLD I tell ya’.
I hope to see more fireworks come out of this the rest of the season. I love it and I’m here for it. I didn’t even watch any of it either! I’m just watching the drama unfold on social. That’s the best part about it. I don’t know the context, nor do I know what came after this. I’m just here vibing out.
Maybe Team Solitaire can get Thompson to take his teammates out to Olive Garden after the race instead of taking them out IN the race…
