Chase Sexton on His Next Chapter: “I Need to Hit the Reset Button”

Chase Sexton has opened up about his upcoming move to Monster Energy Kawasaki in a just released video on Troy Adamitis Mysport YouTube channel.

Although his move to Kawasaki is still not “official” KTM announced last week that the pair were going their separate ways beginning in 2026 after two years together.

While the two years brought success, the 2025 season also came with turmoil, as Sexton struggled with bike setup and injuries during his Pro Motocross title defense.

In the video, Sexton, who just turned 26, talked about “reseting” for the second half of his career.

“I dealt with a lot of stuff this year that I haven’t really dealt with… just mentally and made it pretty hard,” he said. “So, I think now is the time to kind of reset and go for my second half of my career. That’s kind of where I’m at now and trying to write the wrongs that I’ve made and just hit the reset button a little bit.”

He further explained that he felt he has “gotten away” from how he felt as a kid and wanted to bring more “fun” back into his program.

“In the last two years, I have kind of gotten away from just how I felt as a kid. Obviously I’m getting older, but I’m still young. I still enjoy riding my dirt bike. I love what I do and there’s no reason not to have fun while I’m doing it. So, I think when I say reset and get ready for the second half, just more find that teenage version of myself, find the energy and the fun again.

“I think just sometimes you get stuck in a rut and [it] could be your environment, could be people you work with, could be yourself,” he continued. “All the outside stuff that shouldn’t affect what I do. Get rid of that and just go back to the basics. For me, that’s the goal for this year.”

After two seasons with KTM, which included the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, eight Pro Motocross overall wins and nine 450SX main event wins in Monster Energy AMA Supercross, Sexton is moving on. Will the change result in a title in 2026?
