Austin Forkner Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

Lost in the craziness of the final round of the SuperMotocross Playoffs in Las Vegas on Saturday was Austin Forkner and Triumph Factory Racing providing an update on his knee injury sustained at round 2 of the playoffs in St. Louis.

According to the team, Forkner sustained medial meniscus tear in his knee and has already undergone surgery.

Forkner posted on his social media that luckily he did not sustain any damage to his ACL.

“Unfortunately just as I thought I had a pretty big bucket handle tear in my medial meniscus, luckily acl was ok, I had it fixed a few days ago and I’ll be back soon,” said Forkner on Instagram.

After undergoing brain surgery last year, Forkner has been in rebuild mode in his first year with Factory Triumph. While it has been a challenging year for the veteran, but there have been many bright spots, including a season-high fifth at the Washougal round of Pro Motocross.

Forkner will return to Triumph Factory Racing in 2026 after signing a two-year deal with the team last off-season.

  1. As an Oklahoma MX fan I have always rooted for this kid! I realize he is from Mossouri but I will claim him because he spent so much time here. Glad his knee tear is minimal.
