And just like that, the 2026 SuperMotocross season is officially in the books. Thirty-one rounds of Supercross, Pro Motocross and the SMX Playoffs are behind us, which means we can finally turn our attention toward 2027. And while Anaheim 1 may still feel a long way away, Silly Season has already been plenty busy.
New teams. New bikes. Some familiar faces in new places. And, of course, several big pieces still left to fall into place. So, who’s going where in 2027?

Cooper Webb Announces Departure from Star Racing Yamaha
This is one we all knew was going to happen. Cooper Webb is leaving Star Racing Yamaha and headed to Team Tedder to ride Husqvarna’s. Webb made the news official on his social media, thanking the team and staff.
He will make his Husky debut with the team this weekend at the Motocross of Nations.
“32 rounds done. Achieved my goal of lining up for every round this season. It was also my last race with Yamaha. I’m proud of everything we accomplished together the past three seasons. 10 wins, 32 podiums, and finished 2-1-3 in the SX Championship. This team gave me my first shot almost 15 years ago and it was a personal goal to repay them with a 450 championship. Thank you boys. Now let’s go represent the USA in France!”
Aaron Plessinger and KTM Parting Ways
Aaron Plessinger’s time with Red Bull KTM has come to an end. AP is expected to move to Triumph for next year and beyond.
He released the following on social media:
“Time flies when youre having fun. So many pictures/memories I left a lot out cause I can’t fit It but man where do I start, these guys took a chance on me and treated me like family from the start. For 5 years It was a damn good run. We had some ups and we definitely had some downs but overall we became such a good team/family and I can’t thank them enough for leading me to where I honestly never thought I could ever be. They made me believe in myself and accomplish a lot of my childhood dreams along the way. From my first win in the big dawg class to my best overall season to multiple Nations appearances, I’m forever grateful to this group. I’ve grown so much in this time and I’ll cherish the memories and friendships forever. So I would like to say THANK YOU ALL that were a part of this. As this chapter closes another one begins. Love all of you guys and I will see you soon but just looking a little different @ktmfactoryracing its not goodbye, its ill see you later”
The Latest on Chase Sexton and Kawasaki
Oh, boy, rumors are heating up that Chase Sexton and Monster Energy Kawasaki could part ways one year into a multi-year deal. Steve Matthes dropped this over the weekend…

Justin Barcia Leaving Ducati
Justin Barcia’s brief time with the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing Team has come to an end.
The SMX finale would have been his last race with the team, but an ankle injury suffered at round 2 kept him out of action.
“Sadly, have to say this, but last weekend at LA was my last race with the TLD Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing Team,” said Barcia in a team release. “I unfortunately twisted my ankle in the first moto and tried to ride this week but it’s not in the cards for me. Bummed to end it like this but overall, it’s been a hell of a journey. I want to say thank you to the whole team for being behind me through this year on this brand-new bike. Everyone worked hard this year and I think we did a pretty good job at the end of the day.”
Barcia is expected to sign with HEP Motorsports Twisted Tea Suzuki for 2027.
Malcolm Stewart Moving On
Malcolm Stewart, RJ Hampshire and more will have new homes in 2027, as Rockstar Energy Husqvarna is shutting down. Over the weekend, Malcolm thanked the team on his social media, as he’s been linked to a new deal with Monster Energy Kawasaki.
“What an emotional ride yesterday! Watching this chapter come to an end, while seeing two incredible athletes finish their careers, made it a day I’ll never forget.@dylanferrandis & @elitomac CONGRATS! on incredible careers!Thank you team for all the great memories, unforgettable moments, and everything along the way. Casey Cochran Will Have a New Home
With the Rockstar Energy Factory Husqvarna team shutting down, Casey Cochran is one of the many riders looking for a new home. He has been linked to a ride with Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing.
“Wow, the last 4 years have been a dream come true with @husqvarnamotorcyclesusa I can truly say this team will always be family. Can’t thank these guys enough for all the hard work they’ve done to accomplish what we did. Special thanks to @nramsey25 for this opportunity and believing from the start. Unfortunately it’s come to an end but I’m forever grateful. Thanks boys.”
Daxton Bennick, Ryder D Not Going Far
As mentioned above, the Factory Husqvarna team is shutting down, but Daxton Bennick and Ryder D are expected to move over to the Red Bull KTM Factory 250 squad for next year.
Here is what Bennick had to say on social media:
“Well that’s a wrap on the season. Lot to be happy about and thankful for. made it through healthy which is huge and I can continue to build into next year. I got my first moto win 3 podiums 3rd in sx championship made progress in outdoors and smx. Also wanna give a huge shoutout to my team it’s been an awesome ride and everyone on @husqvarnafactoryracing feels like family it’s been real excited for some time off to enjoy and reset”
Marshal Weltin Announces Retirement
After 12 professional seasons, Marshal Weltin announced he is stepping away from professional racing. Here is what he wrote on social media:
“Twelve years of professional motocross. I honestly had no clue what I was getting myself into when I started this journey, but I wouldn’t trade a single second of it. It’s been a hell of a run, and I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished. As a kid, I never thought any of this was possible—even as an adult, it felt surreal sometimes. I’m living proof of what happens when you believe in yourself and put in the work. Thank you all. I’m hanging it up after last weekend. see you around”
