We have reached the official halfway point in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship as we enter the only off-weekend of the 17-round series.
Which, means, it is time to fall on the sword.
You see, prior to ever season, I, a 20-time AMA Media Member of the Year nominee, toss out my famous bold (mild if we are being honest) predictions for the new season.
Typically, I have a 99.8% accuracy rate. This year…. yeah, things aren’t looking great.
I will revisit these at the end of the year to see if things turn around, but as of now, WE are not looking good.
OG Pick: Most Wins: Chase Sexton
Look, man, NO ONE SAW THIS COMING! Even before his injury, things were not going great for Chase and the Kawi crew. My only hope is that RV comes in, saves the day, and things turn around. That’s if Chase is able to line up after the break, which as of now, we don’t know if he will or not.
Grade: F
OG Pick: Most Podiums: Cooper Webb
Ok, ok. WE have some hope here. Through 9 rounds, Webb is third in podiums with 5. He only trails two riders in the category, as both Eli Tomac and Hunter Lawrence have 7. The good news: Webb has reeled off 5 podiums in 6 rounds. The bad news: Hunter has 7 podiums in 8 rounds and Eli has 4 straight. I have a chance and that’s all I can ask for.

OG Pick: Laps Led: Chase Sexton
Just go ahead and take me out back and end this….
Grade: F
OG Pick: Number of Different Winners: 6
WE WON! I never said OVERALL winners. I said, winners. And since we had five coming into Indy—Lawrence, Tomac, Webb, Roczen, and Sexton—and Justin Cooper won a “main event” in the Triple Crown, we have officially reached 6 different winners already. I’ll take my award now, AMA.
Grade: A+++++++++++++++++++++++
OG Pick: Title Winner: Cooper Webb
Still a chance. Albeit a very slim one at this point in time.
Grade: C
OG Pick: Runner-Up: Chase Sexton
Not great.
