Power Rankings: 250SX West Division Title Favorites

Let me start by welcoming everyone back to Supercross. Oh, what a joyous occasion. Anaheim 1 is our Super Bowl. Our Daytona 500. Our… you get the point.

There is nothing like A1. Riders debut on new teams, everyone feels like they have a chance at the title, and a renewed focus fills the air. Then qualifying hits—teams scramble for setup changes, riders start doubting themselves, and for most, it’s back to square one.

As we enter the new season, I first want to say thank you to GUTS Racing for sticking by us for Power Rankings. We can go off the edge sometimes, and they continue to stand with us. So, thank you, GUTS.

With that out of the way, let’s kick things off with MY (not yours) Power Rankings for the 250SX West Division title. (I already wrote about the 450SX Class, which you can complain about here.)

I’ll be honest—I had a hard time with this one. There are plenty of riders who could win a race that I had to leave off. And while I could’ve made this a Top 10 to make it easier, Slaw ain’t here for that. You don’t get nominated for AMA Media Member of the Year by taking the easy route. No sir. I’m taking the hard way and listing only MY top five.

1: Haiden Deegan

You may not like him, but you HAVE to have him No. 1. He’s the defending champ, coming in healthy, and looking to add one last title to his 250 résumé before moving to the 450 Class in Pro Motocross. He could’ve moved up, but I think he made the smart call by getting his feet wet in the 450 Class outdoors before going full-time in 2027. It’ll be tight, but I have Deegan taking a second title.

2: Levi Kitchen

The thorn that will be in Deegan’s side all season—on and off the track. The “beef,” if that’s what we’re calling it, has already started in the Vlogosphere, and I’m here FOR ALL OF IT. I’ve said this sport needs better rivalries, and I think we’ve got one with Kitchen and Deegan. If anyone’s going to “upset” Deegan out west, it’s Kitchen.

3: Max Anstie

Don’t sleep on this guy. The veteran could have won the 250SX East title last year before breaking his leg. He just took the World Supercross 250 title this off-season, so he’s coming in with serious momentum. The early rounds will be key. While others search for setup, Anstie should already be firing on all cylinders after racing most of the winter.

4: Chance Hymas

Not talked about enough. Is this the year he stays healthy and breaks through in Supercross? I think so. He grabbed a muddy win in the East last year, and I’ve got high, high hopes for Chance’s chances this season. I’ll see myself out.

5: Cameron McAdoo

He has to find a way to stay healthy. Injuries derailed his 2025 season, but (it’s a big BUT) if he can stay healthy, I think he has a real shot at the title.
