Red Bull KTM’s Julien Beaumer has confirmed he will miss the entire 2026 Monster Energy Supercross season as he continues to recover from a burst fracture in his back suffered at the first round of the SMX Playoffs in September.
Entering his third year with the team, Beaumer told Racer X at the KTM team intro earlier this week that while his recovery is going “extremely well” and that he’s in a “good spot” he wants to make sure his back is 110 percent before returning.
His goal to return? The opening round of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship.
“So, as of return, the plan is to return to outdoors,” he told Racer X. “We’ve completely ruled out supercross as a whole. We made that decision pretty early on in my recovery. So, we don’t want to rush it, and we want to make sure that my back is 110 percent before I return. So, the goal is to return it outdoors.”
In his second full Supercross season in 2025, Beaumer had a breakout year, earning his first career SX podium at the season opener in Anaheim and backing it up with his first career win a week later in San Diego. Although a shoulder injury hindered him late in the season he finished the year with back-to-back runner-up finishes in Denver and Salt Lake City and finished second in 250SX West Division to champion Haiden Deegan.
With Beaumer out, this leaves the team with zero full-time 250 riders heading into the Supercross season. Rumors have suggested that the Coenen brothers — Sacha and Lucas — may race the first few rounds of Supercross this year, which would give KTM at least one 250 rider in Sacha (Lucas would race 450 Class) but that has not been made official.
