Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Motorsports/Progressive Insurance Suzuki has announced its lineup for the AMA Pro Motocross season which kicks of Saturday at Fox Raceway in Pala, California.
Colt Nichols will be joined by MXGP veteran Benoit Paturel, whom the team signed over the weekend.
Ken Roczen, who missed the final two rounds of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, will begin the season on the sidelines after he underwent surgery on his right ankle in early May. The team said Roczen is eyeing a return “at Pro Motocross rounds later in the season, pending recovery.”
Veteran Kyle Chisholm will not race the Pro Motocross season with the team, but will return for the SuperMotocross (SMX) World Championship later this year.
“I am very excited to compete in my first full season of American Motocross,” said Paturel. “I have been testing on the motorcycle, and I am adapting well to the Suzuki platform.”
“The motocross season is long and challenging after a tough supercross campaign,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks. “The summer motos will test the team’s strength, and I feel we have prepared well coming into the start of the motocross season. Colt is coming off of a win at the Glen Helen pre-race, and Benoit is a fresh face with a ton of experience.”
