What’s Next For Christian Craig After Being Granted Release From Star Racing Yamaha?

Christian Craig’s return to Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing has come to a premature end.

On Monday, Craig announced on social media that he asked, and was granted, an early release from a two-year contract signed with the team prior to the 2025 SMX season.

“Just wanted to give everyone an update on what I’m doing. I have asked and have been granted an early release from my two year contract with Star Racing Yamaha. I’ve had a lot of great memories riding blue including winning a 250 SX Championship together. Thanks to everyone for the support and will update you on my future soon.”

Craig initially joined Star Racing prior to the 2021 season and won the 2022 250SX West Region title with the team. He moved to Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, and the 450 Class, for the 2023 season and spent two years with the team before returning to Star this off-season.

Injury hindered Craig’s return. Following off-season knee surgery for an injury sustained at the 2024 SuperMotocross Playoffs season finale in Las Vegas, Craig missed the opening nine rounds of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season.

Craig raced the final eight rounds of the season and had a seasons-best 11th at the final two rounds in Denver and Salt Lake City.

What’s next for Craig? According to MotoOnline.com, Craig has been linked to a deal with Quad Lock Honda for the FIM World Supercross Championship alongside Joey Savatgy.
