For years, inside motor homes and pits around the country, people have debated who the number 1 ranked amateur prospect in the country was. And for years, we had no way to settle the debate. Until now.
Thanks to the Vurbmoto Prospect app (now available on the App Store and Google Play) we brought in a formula. Slaw don’t math, so I had nothing to do with this formula, but it did spit out all this cool info and gave me the NO 1 amateur rider in the country following the World Mini Grand Prix.
And that rider is…. Raycin Kyler.
The 11-year-old from Florida exudes style–on and off the track. She cleaned house in April at the Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier which has shot her to the top of the rankings. At the North Central AQ, she was on fire sweeping 65cc (10-11) and Girls (11-16). In that same weekend, she finished 1-2 in 65cc (10-11) Limited, 2-2 in 85cc (10-12) and 4-4 in 85cc (10-12) Limited. Crazy stats!

- Event Multiplier
Not all races are created equal. Events are weighted as follows:
Event Type | Multiplier |
Local Race | 1x |
AMA State Championship Series | 3x |
AMA Area Qualifier | 5x |
AMA Featured Series | 6x |
AMA State Championship | 20x |
AMA Regional Qualifier | 60x |
AMA Featured Event | 75x |
AMA Major Event | 100x |
AMA Motocross National | 400x |
- Class Multiplier
The system adjusts for class size using the table below. This allows events outside of those on the Event Multiplier list the ability to become prioritized. For example, a local race that receives 1x points can receive more points based on how large each class size is, rewarding the promoter and the riders for hosting/racing larger events.
Riders in Class | Multiplier |
>60 | 1.5 |
51-60 | 1.45 |
41-50 | 1.35 |
31-40 | 1.25 |
21-30 | 1.15 |
11-20 | 1.05 |
7-10 | 0.9 |
5-6 | 0.825 |
3-4 | 0.75 |
Example Scenario:
- Rider A vs. Rider B:
- Rider A competes in the Southwest AMA Area Qualifier with 20 riders in their class.
- Rider B competes in the Southeast AMA Area Qualifier with 40 riders in their class.
Using the weighted system:
- Rider A earns 149.5 points:
- 26 (Large Event Scale) × 5 (AMA AQ Weight) × 1.15 (Class Multiplier).
- Rider B earns 175.5 points:
- 26 (Large Event Scale) × 5 (AMA AQ Weight) × 1.35 (Class Multiplier).
