The Number 1 Ranked Amateur in the Country Following World Mini Is…

For years, inside motor homes and pits around the country, people have debated who the number 1 ranked amateur prospect in the country was. And for years, we had no way to settle the debate. Until now.

Thanks to the Vurbmoto Prospect app (now available on the App Store and Google Play) we brought in a formula. Slaw don’t math, so I had nothing to do with this formula, but it did spit out all this cool info and gave me the NO 1 amateur rider in the country following the World Mini Grand Prix.

And that rider is…. Raycin Kyler.

Rankings as of May 7, 2025.

The 11-year-old from Florida exudes style–on and off the track. She cleaned house in April at the Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier which has shot her to the top of the rankings. At the North Central AQ, she was on fire sweeping 65cc (10-11) and Girls (11-16). In that same weekend, she finished 1-2 in 65cc (10-11) Limited, 2-2 in 85cc (10-12) and 4-4 in 85cc (10-12) Limited. Crazy stats!

The Vurbmoto Prospect Formula Explained

Ranking Updates: Points are calculated daily.

Ranking Classifications

  1. National Points:
    • The National Points race runs annually from January through December.
    • The National Points chase resets every year.
    • Riders must create a profile and have an AMA number to participate.
    • Additional details regarding point calculations are outlined below.
  2. Power Ranking:
    • Power Ranking reflects a rider’s lifetime achievement by summing all points earned throughout their racing career.
    • Power Ranking points are calculated separately in order to show the All Time scores of riders throughout history.

The Algorithm
Yes, we developed a custom algorithm to calculate rankings.

How Points Are Earned:
The system evaluates the following metrics:

  1. Event Size
  2. Event Multiplier
  3. Class Multiplier
  • Event Size
  • Small Events: Fewer than 22 riders in a class.
  • Large Events: 22 or more riders in a class.

  • Event Multiplier
Not all races are created equal. Events are weighted as follows:
Event TypeMultiplier
Local Race1x
AMA State Championship Series3x
AMA Area Qualifier5x
AMA Featured Series6x
AMA State Championship20x
AMA Regional Qualifier60x
AMA Featured Event75x
AMA Major Event100x
AMA Motocross National400x
  • Class Multiplier
The system adjusts for class size using the table below. This allows events outside of those on the Event Multiplier list the ability to become prioritized. For example, a local race that receives 1x points can receive more points based on how large each class size is, rewarding the promoter and the riders for hosting/racing larger events.

41-501.35

21-301.15
11-201.05
7-100.9
5-60.825
3-40.75

Example Scenario:

  1. Rider A vs. Rider B:
    • Rider A competes in the Southwest AMA Area Qualifier with 20 riders in their class.
    • Rider B competes in the Southeast AMA Area Qualifier with 40 riders in their class.

Using the weighted system:

  • Rider A earns 149.5 points:
    • 26 (Large Event Scale) × 5 (AMA AQ Weight) × 1.15 (Class Multiplier).
  • Rider B earns 175.5 points:
    • 26 (Large Event Scale) × 5 (AMA AQ Weight) × 1.35 (Class Multiplier).
