Stilez Robertson Wins 2020 AMA Horizon Award, Turning Pro

Stilez Robertson ended his amateur career at the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Amateur Motocross National at Loretta Lynn’s over the weekend. It was a banner week for the Bakersfield, California, native, as he won the Open Pro Sport and 250 Pro Sport titles and earned the coveted Nicky Hayden AMA Horizon Award, given to the A class rider who shows the most promise as they prepare to enter the professional ranks.

Robertson’s career at the Ranch was filled with highs and lows. He won four mini cycles titles (his last in 2014) but went four years before capturing another title, the 2019 250 B championship.

The long-time Team Green Kawasaki rider then signed an amateur-to-pro deal with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, which goes through the 2021 season. After winning both titles, Robertson will turn pro this weekend at the opening round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s—yes the same track.

Robertson was the star of the A classes, winning four of the six motos en route to the titles. Now he’ll get to prove his merit in the pro ranks on the same track he just dominated on.
