In a landmark deal announced last week, it was revealed that Stark Future will compete in the FIM World Supercross Championship in 2025, marking the first time in history that we will see combustion-engine motorcycles vs electric motorcycles in the championship.
On Tuesday, Stark announced two of its team members for its inaugural season.
Michael Hicks joins the team for 2025. Hicks, who finished third in AMA Arenacross Championship behind Vince Friese and Ryan Breece, rode the Stark Varg in the X-Pro Class this year and took the title over Justin Bogle and Kelana Humphrey.
It was the first time Stark had competed in AMA Arenacross, as the series introduced the “X-Pro” Class with Stark VARG electric bikes and a combined class (gas vs electric) called the Kicker Clash ahead of the 2025 season.
Hicks also competed in the 250SX East Region in Monster Energy AMA Supercross in 2025, with his best finish a 13th in Birmingham.
Joining Hicks will be former MXGP rider Jorge Zaragoza. The Spanish rider has been competing in events across the world for Stark including the Arenacross World Tour. He last raced in MXGP in 2022.
The 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship begins Oct 18 in Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysian GP.
