ClubMX Yamaha’s Ryder Malinoski has released an update on his condition following a very scary crash in the SMX Next main event at Anaheim 2 on Saturday night.
On the opening lap, Malinoski landed on Max Shane and both riders went down hard. The race was red flagged as medics attended to both riders.
On his Instagram story, Malinoski said that he dislocated his hip in the crash and that doctors have “popped” it back in and that he didn’t sustain any other injuries.
“I got an alright start, fourth or fifth. One of the riders right in front of me kind of went in my lane, cross rutted, I was already committed to a triple… it’s just racing. I’m hoping he’s okay too. I clipped his head, I think and it shot me right over the bars and right into the next jump. It was a really gnarly one, but I’m alright. Couldn’t be more grateful to be okay. That was God watching over me. I have a dislocated hip and a hit to the head obviously.”
We don’t currently have an update on Shane, but will post more once it is known.
