Rookie Report: Where The New Class Stands After Three Rounds

We are three weeks into the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season and holy crap has it been fun. Six different winners, three different red plate holders, and rookies making some noise. I’m going to keep it short this week and just give everyone some quick updates on how the rookies are doing so far.

Cole Davies has not only been a standout rookie, he’s been the standout rider of the 250SX West Region. Davies has been impressive each week and he’s coming off his best finish last weekend at A2 with a third. Cole said he had been training hard on MX Bikes and plans on indulging in some Whitakers and MX Bikes tracks.

250SX Championship Standing: 5th

Parker Ross has had a quiet but very good start to his rookie campaign. Ross has made it straight into the mains twice and has not missed a main this season. Ross is still fighting to break into the top 10, with a season best finish last week of 12th. Parker seems to be improving every week and finding himself a little more as a SX rider. Don’t forget Parker won the SX3 class a few years ago in Australia.

250SX Championship Standing: 14th

Jett Reynolds is having a slow start to his 2025 season with a 22nd at A1 and back-to-back 13ths. It is a building year for Jett, so while he probably wants more, getting races in is most important right now. Jett is stupid fast, we all know that, and once he can find his rhythm and get in a groove, I think we will see him toward the front.

250SX Championship Standing: 16th

Drew Adams finally made his pro debut at Anaheim 2. With Ty Masterpool and Garrett Marchbanks out with injury and no riders left for Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki, it was time for Adams to move up to the big leagues. Drew had an impressive day qualifying 8th overall and would ride home to an 8th place finish in his debut. Considering he had little time to prepare, this was a solid result for the youngster.

250SX Championship Standing: 17th

Gavin Towers has made every main event so far this season, winning two LCQs along the way. One of those LCQ wins came this past weekend at A2. Towers would go on to finish the night 15th overall, his best finish of the season.

250SX Championship Standing: 18th

Avery Long suffered a crash in the LCQ at San Diego resulting in a concussion and some broken ribs. Long said he is feeling better and taking the right steps to getting healthy and will come back better than ever.

250SX Championship Standing: 19th

Noah Viney would also find himself on injured list with a heavy hit in qualifying at San Diego. Noah would later post on Instagram that he dislocated his shoulder and would be having test in the next week to see the severity of the injury. No timetable has been announced on his return.

250SX Championship Standing: 27th

Preston Masciangelo hadn’t found his way into a main event through the first two rounds but would put the pieces together and make his first ever main event at A2 and would take home 21st. Congrats Preston on the first main event!

250SX Championship Standing: 31st
