NOTE: This post will continue to update throughout the day, so make sure to keep refreshing.

Keith Johnson Takes Advantage of Late Mistake from Emig

Oh, man, heartbreak for Jeff Emig in the second Masters 50+ moto. Emig, who is riding a Husky 150, won the first moto and was well on his way to a second moto win… BEFORE he went down on the final lap.

Keith Johnson held the early lead, but by the third lap, Emig had closed the gap. On lap 5, right after the finish, Emig made the pass for the lead. Johnson kept Emig honest, but Emig was going to win the moto before went down on the final lap. Johnson got caught up in Emig’s bike, but was able to get going first. Emig made a last ditch effort at the finish, but Johnson held on for the moto win.

Lil Red Dog Takes a Bite Out of 125cc

What a fantastic ride from Evan Ferry in the second 125cc (12-17) B/C moto.

Logan Best was the early leader in this one, with company from moto 1 winner Mark Fineis and Bryce Shelly. Ferry was buried outside the top five, but quickly made his way to the lead pack. By lap 3, Shelly and Ferry were applying major heat to Best.

Ferry made his way past Shelly first and then went after Best for the lead on the same lap. Once Ferry had the lead he started to open a gap, leaving Fineis, Shelly and Best to fight it out for second. Shelly would go down, which allowed Fineis to break away from the pack.

Ferry would go on to win the moto by 11 seconds with Fineis and Shelly rounding out the podium. Collin Allen had a great ride to get fourth. He even pressured Shelly late for third.

Romano Remains Calm Under Fire in 250 B

Nick Romano and Gage Linville duked it out in the second 250 B moto, with Romano coming out on top.

Romano grabbed the holeshot, but had Linville all over him. This continued throughout the opening laps. Linville keep pressuring for the lead, but everything he threw at Romano, Romano would counter.

By lap 7, Romano began to open a gap and held a four second lead. Linville wasn’t able to respond and Romano would go on to win the moto by three seconds. Linville would cruise to second with Gavin Towers taking third.

Phelps Takes Control in Women

This was arguably the best moto of the day thus far. Korie Steed grabbed the holeshot in the second moto, but was quickly under attack from Katie Benson and first moto winner, Tayler Allred

Allred went off the track on the first lap, but was able to recover and started to push forward. Meanwhile, Benson took over the lead on the first lap. Allred moved into second on lap 2, while Sophia Phelps began to make her push toward the lead group.

On lap 5, Allred made the pass on Benson to take the lead and Phelps followed suit quickly after. The trio had a huge battle but Phelps was finally able to move into the lead on lap 7. As the clock winded down, she began to open a bit of a gap and was able to take the moto win.

A huge pass happened on the final lap, as Benson passed Allred for second. This gives Phelps the advantage heading into the final moto with 2-1 scores to Allred’s 1-3.

Tayla Jones and Steed would round out the top five. Hannah Hodges came from way way back to grab sixth.

Shakeup in 65cc (7-9)

Oh, boy, a big shakeup went down in the second 65cc (7-9) moto. First moto winner Tayce Morgan grabbed the holeshot with first moto runner-up Elliott “Not Bowser” Bowsher in second and Jackson Vick in third.

On the second lap, Morgan went down. As did fourth place rider Nolan Ford. Bowsher would inherit the lead and never look back, going on to win the moto by 26 seconds over Maddox Temmerman.

Unfortunately, Morgan would have more trouble later in the moto. He worked back up to third before going down again. He was inside the top six, but we think he had more trouble as he crossed the line in 33rd.

Bowsher is in control of this championship with 2-1 finishes.

Deegan Rebounds in Supermini

Haiden Deegan recovered from a big crash in Supermini 2 on Wednesday and dominated the second Supermini 1 (12-15) moto today.

It was Krystian Janik with the holeshot, but Deegan quickly moved into the lead on the first lap. From there, it was the Deegan show as he cruised to a more than 15 second win.

Janik would hold on for second over Carter Malcolm

Tough break for KTM’s Jude Smerlick, who was pressuring Janik all moto but crashed late in the race and did not finish. He was able to remount and ride back to the pits.

And, finally, a get well soon to Casey Cochran, who took second in the first moto but had a crash in Supermini 2 yesterday and is out for the rest of the week due to injury.

Clough Clobbers 450 B Limited

A huge crash happened off the start of 450 B Limited but Kimble “Not Lawrence” Jett managed to escape the carnage and grabbed the early lead.

Jett would lead the early portion the moto, but Larry Reyes Jr and Jayden Clough were charging hard to the front. By lap 6 they had caught Jett for the lead and Reyes made his way around with Clough not far behind.

Two laps later Clough would make his way around Reyes for the lead. Reyes fought back to retake the lead, but it didn’t last long as Clough answered back and went on to win the moto by seven seconds. Reyes would take second with Julien Beaumer rounding out the podium.

Man, Drew Adams is showing out in 85cc (10-12). After collecting a win in the first moto, Adams cruised to a second moto win, beating Deacon Denno by 11 seconds.

Denno got the holeshot and tried to run away from Adams, but by lap 3, the two had checked out and Adams was able to make the pass for the lead. He never looked back from there and went on to the moto win.

Landon Gibson would round out the moto podium.

The Kitchen Heats Up

WOW! That was an impressive moto from Levi Kitchen and Chance Hymas and Preston Kilroy for that matter.

Jace Kessler grabbed the holeshot but was quickly passed by Kilroy for the lead. Meanwhile, Kitchen was buried outside the top 30 and Hymas wasn’t off to a much better start.

Kilroy made a mistake in a corner early on the opening lap, which allowed Kessler back through. By the end of lap 1, Kitchen was already up to 8th, with Hymas in 7th.

The trio of Kilroy, Kitchen and Hymas all quickly began to separate from the pack. Hymas took over the lead by lap 3 with Kitchen coming on hot as well. Kilroy made him work for it, but eventually Kitchen did make it through and began to apply pressure to Hymas.

Hymas didn’t make it easy, but on lap 7 right before the finish, Kitchen took the lead and went on to win the moto by 11 seconds over Hymas. Kilroy finished third.

Kitchen’s win sets up a winner take all between Kitchen, Kilroy and Hymas in the final moto as the trio are tied in points.

Fineis Finesses Schoolboy 1

Mark Fineis capped off an impressive performance in the second Schoolboy 1 moto, leading pretty much the entire moto to take home the win.

Fineis was credited with the holeshot but had Collin Allen in tow. Allen passed him briefly for the lead, but Fineis fired back and went on to capture the win.

Evan Ferry got off around a fifth place start but had worked into second by lap 3. It appeared as though Ferry would make a fun at Fineis, but it never materialized and Fineis won the moto by six seconds. Allen would round out the moto podium.

Ferry is still the favorite to win the title, as he holds 1-2 scores to second place Ivan Aldama’s 3-4.
