65 Open Moto 2

The second 65 Open moto was a battle of the Woods, as Caleb Wood and Carson Wood duked it out for the moto win. Caleb Wood grabbed the early lead over Carson and Colt Martin. By the second lap, Carson Wood was on the move and would take over the lead. He’d stretch it out a bit and would go on to win the moto, giving him 1-1 scores. Caleb Wood would take second over Colt Martin.

Open B Moto 2

The Gage Linville, Daxton Bennick battle continued this morning in the second Open B moto. The two have been going at it all weekend and this morning was no different. Bennick took the holeshot, but Linville wasted little time moving into the lead. He took over the top spot on the first lap and began to open a gap on Bennick. He’d go on to win the moto and now the two are tied with 1-2 scores heading into the third and final moto. Noah Stevens would round out the podium in moto 2.

250 B Moto 3

OH. MY. GOODNESS. The Gage Linville, Daxton Bennick battle once again delivered in the final 250 B moto. The two entered tied on motos with 1-2 scores and it was a fight to the finish for the overall win. Bennick took the early lead, but Linville was right there with him every step of the way. On the third lap, Linville began to make his move and started to apply pressure to Bennick. But every move he tried to make, Bennick would counter. On the final lap, Linville again tried to apply pressure to Bennick and force a mistake but Bennick was in complete control and withstood a final lap charge from Linville to take the moto win and the overall.

250 B Results

1 Daxton Bennick 2-1-1

2 Gage Linville 1-2-2

3 Trevor Colip 3-4-3

Open Pro Sport Moto 2

Due to AMA rules, the Open Pro Sport is only running two motos this weekend. The second moto was shaping up to be another Jack Chambers, Kyle Bitterman battle as Chambers grabbed the early lead with Bitterman all over him. But Bitterman went down early and fell all the way back to sixth. This allowed Chambers to open a gap over Jamal Porter and Caden Braswell. Chambers looked like he was going to cruise to the moto win, but on the final lap both Porter and Braswell made a hard charge. Chamber held tough though and edged out the win over Porter and Braswell. Chambers took the moto win and the overall via 1-1 motos. Bitterman rebounded to finish fourth.

Open Pro Sport Results

1 Jack Chambers 1-1

2 Jamal Porter 3-2

3 Kyle Bitterman 2-4

125 Open

Logan Best’s domination of the 125 Open Class continued in the third and final moto of the weekend. Best grabbed the early lead and was followed by Ryder Gwynn and Luke Fauser. The top three remained the same the entire moto, as Best slowly built upon his lead and went on to take the moto win. Best sweep the 125 Open Class with 1-1-1 scores.

Vet 30+

Following a third in the second moto this morning, two-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion Chad Reed was back in form in the third and final moto. ClubMX owner Brandon Hass, who won the second moto, tried to keep Reed honest throughout the race, but the former Pro Motocross Champion was too much to handle as he claimed the moto win and the overall behind 1-3-1 finishes to Hass’ 2-1-2. Loretta’s champion Broc Peterson would take third in the moto and third overall.

250 Pro Sport

WHAT AN EPIC BATTLE in the final 250 Pro Sport moto. Due to AMA rules, 250 Pro Sport only ran two motos on the weekend and the final one was in instant classic between Jack Chambers, Caden Braswell and Kyle Bitterman. Chambers took the holeshot in this one, but he had immediate heat from Braswell and Bitterman. He would fall back to third early, but this race was far from over. You could literally throw a blanket on the three for the entire moto. On lap 4, Braswell took the lead briefly, but Bitterman would fight back and retake it. On the following lap, Braswell finally made a move stick. Chambers was all over Bitterman but tipped over in the corner and fell well behind the leaders. Once in the lead, Braswell would open a gap on go on to the moto win and take the overall. Bitterman finished second with Chambers in third.

250 Pro Sport Results

1 Caden Braswell 2-1

2 Jack Chambers 1-3

3 Kyle Bitterman 3-2

Supermini (12-16) Moto 3

Casey Cochran took the early lead in the final Supermini moto but he had company in the form Jude Smerlick. Cochran and Smerlick would distance themselves and while Smerlick would keep Cochran honest, he wasn’t able to make a strong challenge for the lead. We think Smerlick went down late, as he fell all the way back to fourth. Cochran would go on to take the moto and overall with 1-3-1. Tyler Mollet and Thomas Wood would round out the moto podium.

Supermini (12-16) Results

1 Casey Cochran 1-3-1

2 Tyler Mollet 2-4-2

3 Thomas Wood 4-1-3

Open B Moto 3

I swear, I haven’t seen two rider battle so hard through ever DAMN moto in some time, but Gage Linville and Daxton Bennick were tied at the hip this entire weekend. The two entered the final Open B moto tied with 1-2 motos setting up a winner take all. Linville grabbed the early lead in this one and while Bennick was close the entire moto, he wasn’t able to put in a charge toward the front. Linville actually pulled a bit of a gap late to take the moto win and the overall with 2-1-1 motos. Noah Stevens would round out the moto podium.

Open B Results

1 Gage Linville 2-1-1

2 Daxton Bennick 1-2-2

3 Noah Stevens 6-3-3

85cc (9-12) Moto 3

Carson Wood entered the final moto with 1-1 scores and was looking for a clean sweep. But he got off to a horrible start, rounding the first lap in 11th. This allowed Seth Dennis to take off with the lead. He opened a big gap over Brennon Harrison and Brandon Eade early and cruised to the moto win. Wood was only able to make it back to 7th, which means Dennis took the overall with 3-2-1 motos.

And that’s a wrap on the 2021 Mad Skills Vurb Classic. Thanks everyone for coming out, we’ll have more content than you can consume all week.
