Ahh… a new season of Monster Energy AMA Supercross is on the horizon. No, I will not refer to it as the start of SuperMotocross. THIS IS THE START OF SUPERCROSS. We ain’t talking playoffs until September.

As is customary at the start of a new season, I whip out my bold predictions for the upcoming year. I once predicted Eli Tomac would win the 2023 title and retire (wrong, but almost kind of could have been right) and that Ken Roczen would put Suzuki back on the map (1000000% correct).

While the new season has plenty to talk about, I’m not here for that right now. I’m here to infuse some flaming hot (okay, mild if I’m being honest) predictions for the season. Here is what I will be predicting:

Most wins

Most podiums

Most laps led

Number of Different Winners

Title winner

Runner-up

Most Wins: Chase Sexton

New bike, new team, blah blah. I know. I know. These things take time. And yet, I still have Sexton with the most wins with Jett Lawrence out for the year. He’s the fastest in the class. He won 7 times in 2025 on a bike he did not like. Imagine him on a bike he likes (we think)? Seven wins again for Sexton in 2026.

Most Podiums: Cooper Webb

I like to compare Webb to Ryan Dungey. Won’t blow you away with the fastest lap in qualifying, but will be there every week, late in the race, just grinding you down. And while Sexton has the speed, he’s also been prone to mistakes. Webb, not so much. He knows who he is and will use that to wear you down over 17 rounds. Webb only missed out on the podium 4 times a season ago. I think he betters that by one in 2026: 14 podiums in 17 rounds for the defending champion.

Laps Led: Chase Sexton

See above.

Number of Different Winners: 6

In 2025, we had 7 different winners. The year prior: 6. I’m going six for 2026 and here they are:

Chase Sexton

Cooper Webb

Eli Tomac

Ken Roczen

Hunter Lawrence

Aaron Plessinger

That is the list.

Title Winner: Cooper Webb

It won’t start pretty, but once we go to the East Coast, Cooper Webb will find his stride and grind his way into the championship lead. It’s what he does, and until he doesn’t, I have to put him at the top.

Runner-Up: Chase Sexton

These two are the clear 1, 1A heading into 2026 and I don’t see it changing.

  1. I think those are solid picks. Ken Roczen #1 is going to win the championship and he’s going to have to beat Eli Tomac #2 to do it. Webb #3 Anderson #4 Sexton #5 Lawrence #6 Prado #7
