Note: This post will continue to update throughout the day.

65cc 7-9 Limited Moto 1

We have our first chaotic moment from Loretta’s. The #1 ranked amateur rider on the Vurbmoto Prospect app, Jett Rau, was unable to start the first 65cc 7-9 Limited moto as his bike would not start on the line.

This left Ezra Armbruster, the #3 ranked rider on Prospect, as the heavy favorite, but he crashed early in the moto and had to work through the pack. He would eventually finish 28th.

With Rau and Armbruster out, Shannon Tarnow and Yumena Berning were there to pick up the pieces. Tarnow held a slight gap over Berning, one of few female riders racing in the division, but late in the moto it was Levi Meyer who made the strongest push.

Meyer, a native of Florida, made the pass on Berning with a few laps remaining and was trying to go after Tarnow, but he couldn’t shake Berning, as she stayed in the fight until the end.

With two laps remaining, the trio was locked in a huge battle. Meyer would make a slight mistake coming out of the Ten Commandments, which allowed Berning to move back into second. Berning then went to work on Tarnow and had the gap closed to within a second as they crossed the line for the final lap.

While Berning made him work for it on the final lap, Tarnow held on for the win. Meyer would have trouble on the final lap and finished sixth.

Mickey Fluhart rounded out the podium.

250 B Limited Moto 1

The results won’t tell the full story of the first 250 B Limited moto of the week. The results will show Wyatt Thurman ran away with a 10 second win. But, it was a much closer battle that will be one to watch going forward.

Thurman was the early leader over Franklin Bowsher and Christopher Harris but the rider on the move was Max Shane. The number 2 ranked rider on the Vurbmoto Prospect National Rankings, Shane was on the move early, passing Bowsher and then Harris, after Harris made a mistake following the Ten Commandments.

Shane was making his way toward the front, but he crashed and lost all his momentum. He was able to get up and was still in second, but all the stream out of his early charge was gone. Brennon Harrison was on the charge late and got around Shane, who held off McKayden Fitch for third.

250 Pro Sport Moto 1

The first shot in 250 Pro Sport has been fired, and it was by Enzo Temmerman. The Team Green Kawasaki rider put in an absolute perfect moto to start his bid for the Horizon Award.

Diesel Thomas was the early lead over Landen Gordon, Luke Fauser, and Leum Oehlhof among others. Horizon Award contenders Landon Gibson and Kade Johnson both found trouble early and were outside the top 15.

The rider on the move though was Temmerman, who picked off every contender on his way to the lead. He was setting laps around 2 seconds faster than Oehlhof, who had taken the lead away from Gordon.

By lap 6, Temmerman had already moved into second and two laps later, made his way around Oehulf for the lead. Oehulf had trouble late in the moto and fell all the way back to 17th.

Gibson overcame a terrible start and clawed his way back to third, keeping his Horizon Award hopes alive. Landon Hartz took fourth over early leader Thomas.

Fauser overcame two crashes to take home sixth.

Junior 25+ Moto 1

The class filled with former pros was a runaway in the first moto. Former privateer Jacob Baumert, who rode for the Crosley Radio-backed team during his time in Pro Motocross, grabbed the early lead and ran away with the moto 1 win.

Heath Harrison, who was fastest in practice on Monday, was buried off the start and was never a factor in challenging Baumert.

Jake Weimer is back at the Ranch. After a sluggish start, the 2010 250SX West Region Monster Energy AMA Supercross Champion rallied all the way back to third.

Ezra Hastings and Luke Vonlinger would round out the top 5. ClubMX training facility owner Brandon Hass finished sixth after starting up front.

125 Jr B/C Moto 1

All Tristan Prueitt, all day. While it wasn’t a walk in the park, Prueitt overcame an early battle with Christian Humphrey and walked to the moto 1 win.

Early, it was Prueitt and Humphrey trading blows, with Prueitt coming out on top. Humphrey then lost second to a hard charging Kannon Hargrove. Humphrey had problems later in the moto and would finish outside the top 10.

While Prueitt was running away, Hargrove had a late challenge in the form of fellow Yamaha riders Kade Bollasina and Tanner Dorman. In the final portion of the moto, the trio was engaged in one of the best battles we’ve seen thus far.

After trading lines, Bollasina was first to make the move on Hargrove and Dorman was quick behind. As they distance themselves from Hargrove, Bollasina would hang on for a hard fought second.

Dorman had troubles late and dropped outside the top 10. Hargrov, Braxton Mes and Colby Lesser would round out the top 5.

250 B Moto 1

It is getting a tad dry out at the Ranch and it cost some of the top contenders in the first 250 B moto.

Star Racing Yamaha’s Carson Wood snagged the holeshot over Deacon Denno, Vincent Wey, Tomi Doble, and Aden Keefer, among others.

Wood led the opening portion before a massive mistake before the finish. In a scrub gone wrong, Wood tried to scrub the jump before the finish and got sideways and ran into the Monster can signage.

This allowed Denno to take the lead and the Texas native stretched his lead to around 10 seconds while the battle for second heated up late, as Owen Covell chased down Vincent Wey and made a pass the stick after the billboard section.

Denno had a big gap before he crashed late in the race which allowed Covell to close in. In the final laps, Covell made his move and closed the gap to less than a second on Denno and on lap 10 he made the pass stick.

Covell would take the come-from-behind win over Denno. Wey finished third over Nate Freehill and Chace Lawton.

Aden Keefer also had a big crash on the dry conditions. He was able to remount but finished outside the top 20. Carson Wood rebounded to finish 14th.
