Levi Kitchen Captures 2021 Nicky Hayden AMA Horizon Award

Levi Kitchen’s amazing two year stretch at AMA Amateur Motocross National at Loretta Lynn Ranch was capped off last weekend with two titles—Open Pro Sport and 250 Pro Sport.

After racing concluded on Saturday, Kitchen was awarded the Nicky Hayden AMA Horizon Award, which has been awarded to the A class rider who shows the most promise as they prepare to enter the professional ranks since 1997.

Kitchen entered Loretta’s in 2020 as a relative unknown, but dominated the 250 B Limited and 450 B Limited classes, winning most of his motos by 30+ seconds and went a perfect 6-for-6. He captured the Amateur Rider of the Year award that year.

He’ll turn pro full time at the Unadilla National this weekend with the Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha team.

Kitchen’s Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha teammate Nick Romano captured the Amateur Rider of the Year award after going 1-1-1 in 250 B and 1-1-8 in Schoolboy 2 (12-17) B/C.

Team Green Kawasaki’s Drew Adams won the 85cc (10-12) class with perfect 1-1-1 motos and went 3-2-2 to capture the Mini Sr. (12-14) class to claim the Youth Rider of the Year award.

Broc Peterson won the Vet (30+) class and was named Vet Rider of the Year.
