Justin Cooper Injury Update Following Hangtown Pro Motocross Crash

Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing’s Justin Cooper has released an update on his social media following a crash in the second moto at round 2 of Pro Motocross at Hangtown.

“Sh$tty way to end the day at Hangtown,” he wrote. “Got a decent start in Moto 2 and had nowhere to go coming down the hill. I got a concussion and the body is beat up, but thankful everything else checked out okay. I remember everything throughout the day yesterday, including the start of the moto. Going to take it day by day and return when I’m ready.”

In the second 450 moto, Mikkel Haarup crashed directly in front of him and Cooper went down hard and was knocked unconscious. The race was red flagged while the Alpinestars medical crew tended to him. He was later taken to a local hospital, per the team.

The team released an update on Sunday and noted that Cooper sustained no broken bones and will undergo concussion protocol.

An update on his return will follow at a later date, per the team.
