Jorge Prado Will Not Race SuperMotocross Playoffs

The Jorge Prado, Monster Energy Kawasaki saga took another turn on Thursday.

The team announced on social that Prado will NOT race the upcoming SuperMotocross Championship with the team.

“Following his first Pro Motocross Championship campaign and placing sixth overall, @jorgeprado61 and Kawasaki mutually decided that he will not participate in the upcoming @supermotocross Playoff rounds.

“Monster Energy Kawasaki will attend Charlotte this weekend in support of Kawasaki Team Green riders @enzotemmerman21 and @vincentwey as they compete in the SMX Next World All-Stars Class in Charlotte and St. Louis.”

As I wrote last week, I didn’t see anyway this relationship could repair itself after the circumstances — and the aftermath — at Budds Creek. And this is further proof that we are beyond the point of no return.

While not official, I think this spells the end of a very brief, but rocky, relationship between the two. I’d expect we see Prado on a different team come A1.
