Red Bull KTM announced on Friday that Jorge Prado will make his return to racing Saturday at round 9 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Indianapolis, IN.
Following a disastrous first season in the U.S. with Monster Energy Kawasaki, the multi-time World Champion has found his footing in his return to Red Bull KTM.
Prior to his shoulder injury in qualifying in Seattle, which forced him to miss the last three rounds, he had put in two top-5 finishes, including a first-career 450SX podium at the opening round at Anaheim 1.
Prado missed rounds in Arlington and Daytona following his qualifying crash in Seattle, where he set the fastest time in practice.
Following his crash, scans showed no major damage to his right shoulder, but excessive swelling and irritation in his shoulder joint forced him to miss time.
After the crash, Ian Harrison, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager, said: “Following Jorge’s crash in qualifying at Seattle, we had his right shoulder checked out, which he has injured previously. While there are no major injuries that have been found, other than the excessive swelling and irritation in the region, it has been decided that Jorge will take a week off the bike and his goal is to be back for Daytona if he is in a position to do so. We are not in a title fight with Jorge and his health is the absolute priority, so with some more therapy I am sure that he will be back and competitive again as soon as he is ready.”
Round 9 this weekend will feature the second Triple Crown race of 2026 and you can watch it live on Peacock at 1:00 p.m. ET for qualifying and the racing at 7:00 p.m. ET.
