After missing the opening three rounds of the 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship due to off-season knee surgery, five-time World Champion Jeffrey Herlings will make his season debut at round 4 this weekend for the MXGP of Sardinia at the Riola Sardo circuit in Italy.
The most successful Grand Prix winner of all-time, Herlings underwent right knee reconstruction in October 2024 and began riding three weeks ago, according to the team.
The 30-year-old will now rejoin the series for his 15th world championship year and eighth in the premier class, where he will link-up with teammate Lucas Coenen.
Through three rounds, Honda HRC’s Tim Gajser leads the championship with 167 points. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Romain Febvre sits second with 138 points.
