Kawasaki made a lot of announcements on Monday, including who will replace Jorge Prado alongside Chase Sexton on the Monster Energy Kawasaki 450 team.
As expected, Garrett Marchbanks has landed the spot, moving up from Mitch Payton’s Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team.
“I’m super pumped to be moving up to the 450 Class full-time with Monster Energy Kawasaki,” said Marchbanks in a team statement. “This is an incredible opportunity, and I’m honored that they see the potential in me to move up. I’m looking forward to the new challenge and showing everyone what I am capable of. I’ve been wanting to show my skills on a 450, and I can’t picture a better team to do it with. Kawasaki has always been family for me since mini bikes, and I’m glad I get to continue my career with such an amazing crew.”
Marchbanks has a long history with the Kawasaki brand. He spent a number of years on the brands amateur team—Team Green Kawasaki—before turning pro with Pro Circuit Kawasaki at the 2018 Hangtown Motocross Classic.
Marchbanks spent his first three pro seasons under the PC tent before moving to ClubMX Yamaha for the 2021 season. He rode with the team until the latter portion of the 2024 season, when he and the team parted ways.
The Utah native returned to Pro Circuit ahead of the 2024 Unadilla National in a deal that extended in the 2025 SMX season.
In his first year back with Pro Circuit, Marchbanks finished fifth in the 250SX West Region and third in points in the 250 Pro Motocross Championship.
