Four-time Pro Motocross Champion Eli Tomac will return to racing this weekend at Round 7 of the Pro Motocross Championship at Spring Creek, Red Bull KTM announced today.
It will mark Tomac’s first gate drop since suffering a neck injury in the opening moto of the season at Fox Raceway.
Early in Moto 1 at the opener, Tomac and Garrett Marchbanks came together while battling for position, sending both riders to the ground in a heavy crash. While Marchbanks was able to continue, Tomac was forced to withdraw from the remainder of the event and begin what ultimately became a five-round recovery.
Following the race, Red Bull KTM confirmed Tomac had sustained a hyperextended ligament and a partially torn muscle in his neck.
Now cleared to return, Tomac rejoins the series at Spring Creek looking to build momentum over the second half of the Pro Motocross season. While a championship run is no longer realistic after missing much of the season, his return adds another marquee name to the premier-class field.
