Eli Tomac Confirms He Will Race in 2026

HE’S NOT DONE!

Today, at the pre-season press conference ahead of the AMA Pro Motocross opener, Eli Tomac confirmed he will not be done racing after this season, which was the expectation entering 2025.

“I’m going to continue racing and you know, we’re currently trying to work out deals right now,” he said. “I said I was done, and I’ve kind of had these weird little injuries in Supercross and honestly it has extended my career and extended my ambition for racing.”

Tomac missed the majority of Monster Energy AMA Supercross due to a broken fibula sustained in qualifying at Tampa, but still raced the night show and finished the main event in 17th. He will make his return to racing on Saturday at Fox Raceway.

Prior to the start of the 2025 season, Tomac said that this would be his last.

“That’s what’s in my head, that I can still be that guy, still be the top guy, battling with Jett Lawrence and Chase Sexton,” said Tomac in the 2025 SuperMotocross Preview Show. “There’s no way I would have signed up for 2025 for just a farewell tour. I still feel like I can be there. I’m not chasing a specific championship now, I’m just still chasing that checker flag.”

That has changed and now Eli is searching for a new deal as his current contract with Star Racing Yamaha ends this year. Where does he end up? That is too be determined.
