Drew Adams Will Return to Racing at Denver Supercross

Some good news on the injury front.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Drew Adams will return to action this weekend in Denver.

The rookie has been out of action since Glendale where he suffered a broken collarbone in qualifying. Adams later told Direct Motocross that he also ended up suffering compression fractures in his back as well in the crash.

“I obviously broke my collarbone and I got surgery super fast after and tried to ride just 2 weeks after crash. I was having heavy pains in my back so we got a scan and I ended up compression fracturing my T6, 7, and 8 vertebrae’s in my back and fracturing a rib and that’s why I haven’t been back yet,” he told Direct Motocross.

Adams, just 16, made his pro debut at Anaheim 2 after the teams two other 250SX West Region riders were injured—Ty Masterpool out with broken fingers and Garrett Machbanks who was dealing with a shoulder injury. The rookie finished 8th at Anaheim 2 and qualified sixth in the first qualifying session in Glendale before suffering the injury.

This weekend in Denver will mark the penultimate round of the 250SX West Division, with the season finale East/West Showdown set for next weekend in Salt Lake City, UT.
