As the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season opener approaches this Saturday in Anaheim, we are getting a clearer picture of who will make up the 250SX West Division.
According to the pre-entry lists, Haiden Deegan will defend his West Division title and will be paired with Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing teammates Michael Mosiman and Max Anstie. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki will place Levi Kitchen and Cameron McAdoo on the West and Ryder DiFrancesco is expected to race West for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna.
One rider not listed on the pre-entry list was Honda HRC Progressive’s Chance Hymas. In a Instagram post on Monday, the team confirmed that the Idaho native will race the West Division for the team.
In 2025, Hymas raced the East Division and finished sixth overall in the championship that included a win in Foxborough.
Hymas missed most of the Pro Motocross season with a torn ACL suffered at High Point. Since turning pro in 2022, Hymas has missed time three straight seasons due to knee injuries, but at the SMX media days in December he said he thinks he can compete for a title in 2026:
“I mean, I’d say this next phase of my career is very important,” he said. “I feel like I’m at the point where it’s the decider of where I’m at for the rest of my career. But I’m really happy with where I’m at, and I’d like to stay here, so I need to go put some good results down.”
“I think I can go next year and compete for a title,” Hymas said. “Obviously, having more races under my belt—more consistent results—would be ideal. But I think I think if I can get through supercross really consistent, and even if it’s not a championship, a top three points result would be awesome. Then I can go fight for an outdoor title. If that’s the case, that would be unreal. But obviously the expectations are high for supercross still.
“I believe I can go perform and be that guy,” he added.
The teams second rider, Jo Shimoda, is expected to miss the Supercross season with a neck injury.
