Jett Lawrence Updates Timeline for Return to Riding

When will we see Jett Lawrence back riding? November could be the window, but he’s giving himself time to rebuild before returning to full training.

It’s been a frustrating stretch for Lawrence, who originally injured his ankle during preseason training last December. Despite battling pain throughout the summer, he managed to win four Pro Motocross overalls and finish just two points behind his brother Hunter in the 450 championship. However, Lawrence underwent another procedure to remove hardware and address the ongoing discomfort after the final round in early September.

Speaking on the Jaxxon Podcast, Lawrence revealed that he expects to return to riding approximately eight to nine weeks after surgery, which would put him back on the bike sometime in early November.

“Riding? I’m technically—I think I’ll be cleared, like, in—I can kind of be cleared by probably six weeks from surgery, but it’ll be, like, kind of mid-in vacation time, you could kind of say. So probably not till, like, eight or nine weeks, I’ll probably start actually riding and training on the bike.

“I’ll probably do some more weeks of, like, strengthening up my ankle, the joint and my leg and stuff like that, to kind of get that back up to my left.”

That wouldn’t leave a ton of time for Jett, who has missed a lot of Supercross in recent years. Since moving to the 450 Class in Supercross in 2024, Jett has completed just one full season. In his rookie year, he won 8 races and captured the 450SX title. In 2025, he raced just four rounds before tearing his ACL and he missed all of 2026.

And while the timeline might seem tight, Lawrence doesn’t appear concerned. When asked whether he would be ready for Anaheim, his answer was simple: “Oh yeah.”
