We have had a LOT of questions regarding The 500 East coming up Oct 10-12 at Lincoln Trail. Everything from “Why is it an AMA event?” Because we needed insurance. To “Can I race a moped?” No. No, you cannot unless your name is Carson Brown.
So, we are creating what we are calling the “How to Sign up for The 500 East” campaign.
Step 1: This is very, very important. YOU MUST SIGN UP PRIOR TO THE EVENT! If you show up to the event and have not signed up, you WILL NOT be able to race. The reason being: we have to order numbers, mugs, and so on, and we cannot do that without knowing the amount of teams/riders we will have.
Step 2: Registration IS OPEN. Go HERE to sign up. Reminder: This event is limited to 200 teams and spots are filling up fast. So, don’t wait to sign up.
Step 3: Once on this page, you will see a bunch of different classes you can sign up for. Select the one that best fits your team. EX: If you are a team of four 40-year-olds, sign up for “Old People”. If you just want to have fun with your buddies, sign up for “Joes”. Want to solo the event? Sign up for “Ironman”. At the end of the day, this is a FUN event. Get a team of buddies and come enjoy an epic weekend of fun and riding.
Step 4: Once you pick your team, scroll down and fill out the remaining portion of the sign up, which will include team members names, emails, etc.
Step 5: That’s it. You have now been registered for the funniest race of your life!
Other Things Of Note:
– All riders will need to report to registration with their AMA card. All team members will need to check-in, verify AMA membership and sign the appropriate waivers. One event AMA memberships will be available on-site ($20) if you do not have a valid AMA membership.
If you download the Vurbmoto Prospect app (on App Store or Google Play) and create an account, you will get $20 from MotoSport.com to spend. So, the one-day AMA membership really won’t cost you anything and Prospect is filled with all kinds of cool stuff and will be the place for live timing for the event, so, you’ll want to download that anyway.
– Check-in is also where you will pick-up your transponder (if you rented one) and verify your transponder number if you are using your own, so be sure to have your transponder number with you if you are using your own. REMEMBER, ONE TRANSPONDER PER TEAM.
– All minor racers must have a Parent/Guardian on-site at the event. Parent/Guardian must attend check-in with the minor rider to fill out the appropriate waivers. If BOTH parents are not attending the event, you must print and fill out the AMA minor release before the event and bring it to check-in. Click HERE for Minor Release.
We think we covered everything, but if you have additional questions please feel free to email us at [email protected].
