Happy Spring Creek weekend! We are back for another edition of Michelin Most Likely and this week we (I) examine AC222’s second visit, Jeremy Martin’s last race (probably) and will anyone challenge Jett (spoiler: no)?

Is AC222 most likely to finish top 10?

As the millions upon millions of loyal readers of this column know, I posed this same question last week and said that he would top 10, but that I was worried about the bike, as it was basically stock. And I was right… kind of.

The nine-time World Champion did get a top 10 (in a moto), but had bike problems in moto two. At nearly 40 years of age, on a relatively stock bike, and to come into the series and top 10 a moto, is insane to me and shows the level of talent the Italian still posesses.

Can he do it again? Uh, yes. AC will get a top 10 overall at Spring Creek. Lead Slaw Lock of the Week.

Is this most likely Jeremy Martin’s last race?

Unfortunately, I think it is. Look, he tried to come back and it didn’t work. This is his home race, literally, and what a way to end a amazing career. Jeremy will be the Grand Marshal this weekend (still not sure what the Grand Marshal does but glad Jeremy can do that and race) and in the announcement, this quote from his brother Alex really signified that this will be the final hoorah for the two-time champ.

“I really cannot think of a better way to put a finishing touch on Jeremy’s incredible racing career than to allow him to be honored and celebrated by the very people who have supported him throughout this journey,” said Alex Martin. “That doesn’t just include my parents, my sister, and myself, it also includes the dozens of individuals that have played an integral role in making Spring Creek a world renowned racetrack, the many who guided Jeremy up to the sport’s highest levels, and the tens of thousands of fans who have embraced this race as a summer tradition for many, many years. It’s been an incredible ride, and we are beyond excited to give him the recognition he deserves this weekend.”

Congrats on an amazing career, Jeremy.

Is anyone most likely to challenge Jett?

Challenge? Sure. Beat? No. Lead Slaw Lock of the Week #2.
