Vince Friese and Mitchell Harrison were both penalized following round 3 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship at Anaheim 2.
On the final lap while battling for 19th place, Friese took out Harrison in the final turn. Following the race, SMX Media released the incidents reviewed by Race Direction and it was noted that Friese was penalized fifth championship points and was issued two license points for the incident, as noted below:
450 Main Event: RD reviewed overly aggressive riding by #719 on #41 in the final turn at the end of the race. #719 was penalized five (5) championship points, assessed a fine, and issued two (2) license points.
In a post-race interview with Steve Matthes, Harrison said he was frustrated and went to talk with Friese, who told him to come into the teams rig, per Harrison. After Harrison agreed, he said Friese “just charges” at him and they broke out into a fight, per Harrison.

According to the release, Harrison was fined and issued a one license point penalty for a code of conduct violation.
450 Main Event (Post-Race): #41 was penalized for a code of conduct violation; penalty included a fine and one (1) license point.
After San Diego, Friese was also issued a two license point penalty or “disregarding the Blue Flag and blue flag protocol on multiple occasions during the Main Event.” Friese finished 17th in the 450SX main event in San Diego.
Friese and Harrison finished 19th and 20th in the 450SX main event at Anaheim 2.
