T-Dog’s Takes: Four Ways to Brand Levi Kitchen’s Chef Nickname

Notice that this column now has a sponsor? That’s right! Troy Dog joined the Blu Cru and you should too! Have you seen the new 2024 models with the special livery? Go look right now! It’s amazing.

The Squad Pod, hosted by me on the Vurbmoto Podcast Network, has now reached ten episodes. It’s been going well and I’ve had some awesome guests on so far. Last week I had Levi Kitchen on and I tried to show him that he should hire me as his marketing guy. I rushed him with some incredible ideas that he should use as a trademark on the podium. You can check them out below, but also make sure you listen to his responses to these on the pod as well!

The reality is that all chefs have some sort of signature move. Emeril has his “BAM” trademark, Guy Fieri visits Flavortown and has his unique style, as does Ann Burrell, and Bobby Flay just grills his fruit all day. My point is that Levi needs to have his own thing and his dyed hair doesn’t count as it’s been done before. Here is what I came up with in a two minute brainstorm session.

Salt Bae

Obviously Salt Bae’s 15 minutes of fame has come to an end and you don’t see too much of him around viral social media posts anymore. Yet, Levi could make an imaginary sprinkle of salt down his forearm after his podium interview. The crowd would probably go crazy. After all, he just served up a feast on the track so why not finish it with some seasoning?

The Champagne Papi

This next move is incredible if I do say so myself. I think it’s my favorite to be honest and it’s definitely the most original. After Levi were to spray the crowd with champagne on the podium he has to take that bottle and pour it into his invisible sauté pan. Now this is where attention to detail is super important. He’s going to pour the leftover champagne in a clockwise direction around the pan to deglaze the invisible contents. If you’re a chef you need flair and this move has it all.

UPDATE: Levi said this idea sucked. He’s wrong.

Chef’s Kiss

This is a simple yet effective move. He’s going to give the crowd and the folks at home a Chef’s kiss. You know what that looks like and if you don’t ask your mom.

Chef’s Hat

Okay, this is the winner. This is the idea that Levi truly wants to make happen and if you listened to the pod you’ll know that he is eagerly working on getting this approved. You know how A-A-Ron Plessinger has his cowboy hat with the sponsors on it? Yeah, same concept with Levi and his chef hat. Could you imagine his photo on TV with a freaking chef hat on? It would be so good that even Gordon Ramsey would agree that Levi Kitchen is in fact a master chef.
