Red Bull KTM’s Aaron Plessinger continues to deal with an illness that has forced him to withdraw from the second moto in consecutive rounds of Pro Motocross.
Following a sixth in the first moto at RedBud, Plessinger was unable to line up for the second moto and took to his personal Instagram last week to provide an update.
“I’ve been dealing with a little bit of a sickness I kept telling myself wasn’t happening,” Plessinger said in the video. “Finally caught up to me”
Plessinger was in action to begin the day at round 7 at Spring Creek, qualifying fourth overall and running up front early in the first 450 moto. Unfortunately, a depleted Plessinger would ultimately be forced to retire from the race and elected to withdraw from Moto 2.
“Aaron was up there, but definitely had some issues and he had to retire, so we will look into this and find out what we can do to help him,” said Red Bull KTM team manager Ian Harrison in a statement.
It is unclear if Plessinger will be able to race this Saturday at round 8 at Washougal. The championship goes on break following this weekend before returning August 9 at Ironman.
