Dean Wilson Wins Second Straight Brazilian ArenaCross Title in Dramatic Fashion

The Dean Wilson World Tour continues to roll along, as the lad captured the Brazilian ArenaCross Championship over the weekend over home favorite Enzo Lopes.

Being honest here, I don’t follow the Brazilian AX Championship much. So I don’t know all the ins and outs. What I do know, is Dean is a champ and it was a crazy final round.

Dean entered thew weekend with a two-point advantage over Lopes. Lopes won the Superpole, which cut Dean’s lead to one point. Then, Lopes won the first race and took over the championship lead.

In the final race, the title contenders collided (see video below in Dean’s post) and both went down. Wilson’s problems weren’t over though, as landed on someone’s bike moments later which “put a hole in my engine” and he had to make a pit stop for oil (!!!!!!) to finish the race. Which, he did, in fifth, to secure the title by three points over Lopes, who finished the final race 10th.

“BRAZILIAN CHAMPION🇧🇷 VAMOOOOS,” Dean wrote on Instagra. “What a wild night of racing you couldn’t even script it. The first main of the night I had a mechanical problem so the championship went down to last main. Me & Enzo collide & crash. We pick up our bikes to get going & then I land on someone’s bike put a hole in my engine. Worked my way up to 2nd, Team tells me to pull in to mechanics area because I need oil. So I pull in get some oil go back out. Bike starts blowing up last lap. I limped it to the finish line for the championship😭🤣 It’s been a rough summer so I’m stoked to win this even though Enzo was riding incredible. Wilson also won the Brazilian title in 2024.

The Dean Wilson World Tour has been awesome for Dean, as back in February he clinched the British Arenacross Championship and even landed a Honda HRC fill-in ride in Monster Energy AMA Supercross. The next stops? The FIM World Supercross Championship and the Australian Supercross Championship.
