Honda HRC Progressive confirmed on Monday that Chance Hymas sustained a disclosed left shoulder in a first turn crash in the 250SX main event Saturday night at Anaheim 2.
At the start of the main, Hymas went down in the first turn pileup that also involved Levi Kitchen. Hymas put his hand out to break his fall, which caused the dislocation of his shoulder. He pulled out of the main event after the incident.
Per the team, Hymas headed straight to the Alpinestars Medical Unit, where his dislocated shoulder was put back in place. Hymas underwent an MRI in Southern California on Sunday, and although results had not been confirmed at the time of publication, it seems unlikely that Chance will be able to participate in the next three races.
“We are hoping that Chance’s shoulder injury is non-surgical, and that he’ll be able to get back to racing ASAP,” said team manager Lars Lindstrom.
Hymas, who missed time last year with a torn ACL, went 2-6 at the opening two rounds before his latest injury. He is currently 7th in 250SX West Division points through three rounds.
