Cameron McAdoo Says He’s a “Couple Months” Away From a Return to Riding

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Cameron McAdoo said he is still a “couple months” away from getting back on the bike following surgery on a torn ACL earlier this year. In a recent Instagram post, McAdoo said that his recovery is “going well and moving forward as planned” but that he won’t be back on the bike any time soon.

  • McAdoo sustained a torn ACL in a practice crash prior to the 250SX East Region opener.
  • He finished third at the season opener in Tampa but had a heavy crash at round 2 in Detroit. While he returned for round 3 at Daytona, he was unable to race the main event and elected to undergo surgery.
  • McAdoo re-signed with Pro Circuit last off-season in what was reported as a two-year deal, so he is expected to return to the team in 2026.
  • McAdoo sits 48th in the 250SMX standings, well outside of making the SMX LCQ cut off with over half of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship left to race.

It is likely we won’t see McAdoo race until the 2026 season after his latest update. With McAdoo sidelined, the Pro Circuit team will continue the Pro Motocross season with Garrett Marchbanks, Ty Masterpool, Seth Hammaker, and Drew Adams.

“Wanted to jump on and give everyone an update on my progress with the knee,” McAdoo wrote on Instagram. “Things have been going well and moving forward as planned with the recovery, I still have a couple months until the doctors will release me to be back on the motorcycle. This one has been a bit longer recovery due to it being my second time having this ACL worked on. I am missing being on the bike and getting to go race on the weekends more than anything right now but as I know in due time I will get that opportunity. In the mean time I’ve spent a lot of time pedaling bikes, at @rangesportstherapy , lots of PT, and checking off some honey-do projects haha. As always I appreciate everyone’s support through it all 🙌🏻”
