Triumph Factory Racing’s Mikkel Haarup had to exit the Unadilla National early on Saturday following a mid-air collision in the first 250 moto which resulted in a collarbone injury, according to the team.
Coming off five consecutive top-10 overall finishes entering round 10 of 11, Haarup began the day strong, qualifying sixth overall and running up front early in the moto before colliding with another rider and sustaining a collarbone injury.
“Had a good day going, before going down first moto connected with another rider in the air,” he wrote on Instagram. “Getting checked up and put back together. Shout out to my team for the help and the hard work! Appreciate all the positive energy!”
In his first year racing in the United States, the Danish rider has had a successful first year, as he sits sixth in points despite scoring zero points at Unadilla.
At this time, his status for the final round at Budds Creek is not yet known.
