Why Didn’t Chance Hymas Lineup For Moto 2 at Hangtown? He Provides an Update

Honda HRC Progressive’s Chance Hymas has provided an update on his health after failing to lineup for the second 250 moto at round 2 of the Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown on Saturday.

After qualifying second quickest, just .5 off of Haiden Deegan’s top time, Hymas started the first moto strong, battling with early leader Casey Cochran. Then the wheels started to come off and Hymas dropped all the way back to 13th in the moto.

Prior to the second moto, it was reported that the Idaho native would be sitting out the remainder of the afternoon.

Hymas took to Instagram on Sunday to provide an update, citing a battle with food poisoning earlier in the week and having stomach issues again on Saturday prior to the first moto.

“I got food poisoning on Monday and couldn’t keep anything in my system till Tuesday afternoon. Started to feel a bit better but my stomach never felt completely normal,” he wrote. “Was feeling alright yesterday but I ate something that my stomach didn’t like and ended up throwing up all my food and electrolytes before the first moto. Did my best to try and get some food in me but as you all saw, I had nothing in the tank. Unfortunately luck wasn’t on my side but can only go up from here. See you guys next weekend.”

Hymas is expected to be back for round 3 of the championship this Saturday at Thunder Valley.
