Another week, another Power Rankings. Read on below from the best from Slaw. Oh, Wes and Troy also submitted stuff.

– That was Beast Mode. I have watched the below clip no less than 100 times this week. I really hope Eli continues on this trend all year — I have no reason to believe he won’t — because we are going to miss him once he’s gone.

JuJu showed me. If you say you saw this coming, you sir (or ma’am) are a liar. He has been unreal through two rounds and like Tomac, I see no signs of him slowing down.

– Webb usually doesn’t hit his stride until the series moves east, so to go 4-3, all while “Battled some demons spraying out of both ends” in San Diego, to start the year is a win for Cooper.

Still have no clue how he raced Saturday, and got 7th!!!!! Tough SOB.

– A week later, this article still holds true. We need to be talking about Kenny more.

– Copy and paste the article above and change Kenny’s name with Jordon’s.

– The kid is the next star for Star Racing Yamaha. See what I did there?!?!? Okay, I’ll stop.

– He just goes out there and gets it done. Week-in and week-out.

– I called this runner-up finish, so I was not surprised.

– Quietly putting together a really solid start to the year.

Vurb Wes Pre-Anaheim 2 Supercross Rankings

Tomac. Sure, Beast Mode is back, but it’s the smile, happiness, and genuine laughter post-race that really gets me. You can tell Eli is in a great mental space, and that’s going to translate into results—hopefully a lot more Beast Mode, too.

JuJu and the Stone Cold Steve Austin. First win ever—what do you do? Play it so cool that everyone thinks it’s your 100th win. Answers are concise and confident. No games, no distractions. Laser focus. The kid is a mad dog, and he’s HUNGRY.

Monster Energy AMA Supercross is just unreal. I’m a super fan, plain and simple. Being back at the races is an irreplaceable feeling, made even better by the unforgettable racing. It doesn’t get any better for people like us who live, eat, and breathe this sport.

Jettson. He made some serious power moves on the bike—and on social media this week. As long as the latter doesn’t prove to be a distraction this weekend, Jettson’s Power Ranking should only keep climbing.

Deegan is just pissed off with himself. And that’s really all there is to say. He’s a feral cat backed into a corner at midnight. The claws are coming out, and I’m calling it now: he’s getting the win this weekend.

JS7. I was skimming through the press day footage from 2013 Anaheim 3 and came across Stew just deciding to manual the on-off into a dragon’s back. I knew that was going to pop. 11 years later, after how long since he’s actually ridden? And here he sits, 6th in the Guts Power Rankings. Truly unbelievable. Also, shoutout to my archiving/nerd abilities.

Moto Media. It’s been a long time since I’ve been at a race as an actual media member. For most of the last decade, I’ve attended Supercross on assignment for a production. But since my head wasn’t in the weeds this time around, I was able to notice how remarkable it is how much our sport has grown in the media landscape. There are so many people, just like me, living and chasing the dream. And it’s incredible to see the output, both individually and as a collective. Props to all you badasses.

Little did I know Cooper Webb was “spewing demons from both ends.” So imagine what this guy is going to be like when he’s feeling good and gets a solid start. IMO, Webb is as back as Beast Mode. Let the games begin, baby!

-Unfortunately, Jason Weigandt’s hacker didn’t just get the best of him—he got a handful of media members, too. I got multiple texts from people who clicked the links “Jason Weigandt” had sent out, so don’t be surprised if you see media members like Danny Stuart suddenly becoming HUGE bitcoin influencers this weekend.

Octopi. We’ve worked with Ryne Swanberg and Garth Milan basically since the inception of Vurbmoto, and they’re pretty much our go-to guys for everything photo-related on the professional side of the sport. So not only do we get amazingly badass images to use throughout the week, but my boys also hooked me up with a fantastic fold-out sofa to crash on last weekend in SD—saving me roughly $600. That’s a lot of steak dinners, as I like to say. We also practiced some “foundation exercises” at 11pm last week as a group, and it helped my back pain dramatically this whole week. The Octopi boys, just changing lives one stretch and one photo at a time.
