Earlier this week, Red Bull released their latest episode of “Wide Open” where they took you behind the scenes of Hunter Lawrence’s win at Daytona earlier this year.
It’s Red Bull, so you know the video is amazing. The best part to come out of it was Hunter talking about how he could destroy a gator (less than 9ft of course) if they tried to kill his dog.

Anyway, being the Capital J journalist that I am and a 2023 AMA Media Member of the Year nominee, I can up with three scientific reasons why I think Hunter would win.
1 He’s Australian
Hunter is from Down Under. You know who else is? Crocodile Dundee, that’s who and I’m pretty sure he destroyed gators. Check!
2 He’s Now a Floridan
Yes, Hunter is a Florida guy. Florida people also know how to deal with gators in epic fashion. Check!
3 Man’s Best Friend
Slaw is a dog guy. If you are a dog guy, you know you would go to extreme measures to protect your good boy. Check!
So, in the end, Hunter destroys a gator.
