REED/DUNGEY TAKE WIN... IN PRACTICE

written by David Bulmer

reedEveryone knows that practice times transfer over to race results. It’s how it’s always been. If you throw down the fastest lap in practice then you are guaranteed a race win. So why even watch motos?

After winning the first 450 practice the early prediction was focused on Chad Reed, but after watching his teammate Mike Alessi blaze the second practice, it became quite apparent as to who would sit atop the podium at the end of the day. Hats off to Josh Grant, Ryan Villopoto and Andrew Short for rounding out the top five in Saturday mornings practice race. It seems as if we have ourselves a solid practice battle on our hands in the 450 class and the same serves true in the 250 class.

Ryan Dungey, despite being pressured by the international trio of Pourcel, Rattray and Searle, laid down the fastest practice time in both 250 sessions. It looks as if Dungey will definitely pick up where he left off in supercross with a win later on this afternoon. Congrats to Justin Barcia on his fifth place practice finish, as well.
