MIA: Michael Hall

written by John Parkinson

In his rookie year Michael Hall has experienced more lows than highs.  A spotty supercross season had reluctantly turned into an abbreviated outdoor season.  As you most likely already know, the red flag during the first moto of the 250 class this weekend was pulled as a result of Hall's crash.  We chased down Michael this week to see what happened and how he is doing, this is what he had to say:

Lets get right to the point, what happened this weekend at Glen Helen?
I really don’t remember what happened, I just remember being in the medic unit.  I was told that I crashed and got ran over a few times, I ended up getting knocked out and broke my left hand in three places.hall2

How are you feeling just two days later?
I'm feeling a lot better. The hand is still pretty sore, but after everything that happened I'm considering myself very lucky.

How long are you thinking you will be out?
I will not be racing this weekend for sure. I am going to see the doctor tomorrow morning, and we will move forward after that.

What is your outlook here in your rookie season?
Well it isn't over yet, so I will be happy to let everyone know in few months.

How do you feel your rookie season has gone?
The only thing I can think of would be a roller coaster ride, up and down with some corkscrews.

hall4You had some really strong races in supercross. Has that helped with your confidence?
It has been a huge help for sure, now it is just putting it all together consistently.

You have been on the ground a few times this year, what have you learned from these mistakes?
I just need to take it easy and try not be too anxious. A lot of the time I try to make something happen when it should not be done.

What have you learned out of your rookie year of supercross, and how do you plan on using those tid-bits in the outdoors?

CONFIDENCE IS KEY and just having that will make every race seem much easier.hall3

What are your goals outdoors?
I want to be a top guy each and every race.

You are working with Casey Johnson now. How has he helped you?
Casey has really prepared me for this season and I really want to thank him for all he has put into my program!

Michael thanks for your time and we hope that you heal up quickly!  Who would you like to thank?
Thanks a lot, I would like to thank Star Racing Yamaha, Division 7, No Fear, Smith, Easton/Bell, Fox Racing Shox.
