Fiolek Maintains Momentum

Just like last week, Fiolek pulled the holeshot and went on to lead every lap in what was a pretty convincing performance. It'll be interesting to see what happens if she gets a bad start but as it stands, the rest of the field have a lot of work to do if they compete with the Factory Honda rider.
Behind Fiolek there were battles down the field as Cruise, Golden and Patterson all fought it out for the remaining podium positions. Golden quickly got around Cruise and settled into a pace that would give her 2nd place, although Patterson did get close near the end, taking 3rd spot ahead of Cruise. JP really needs to get better starts if she wants to win any races, or even stand a chance of taking back the Women's title.
And that was exactly what happened in moto 2. Fiolek got her customary holeshot but within a couple of turns Patterson took the lead with an aggressive pass. Fiolek managed to stay with JP for a few laps but in the end she dropped off, knowing that her 1-2 would beat JP's 3-1. Still, it was good to see a battle for the lead and hopefully this championship will go all the way to the wire.
Behind those two, there was another epic battle for 3rd as Price, Cruise and Golden all looked to get on the final step of the podium. First it was Cruise, but then Price overtook her after a couple of laps, before Golden came through the pair of them with a couple of hot laps. She would go onto take 3rd place in the race and also for the overall, just ahead of Cruise.
