Contributor Spotlight: John Parkinson

written by Brent Stallo

JP1We’ve known John Parkinson since his days spent at Final Lap Magazine. We met him back in 2005 and, in one way or another, he’s always had the back of everyone here at Vurb. He hasn’t necessarily been down since day one, but we’ll go out on a limb and say that he’s been supporting us since day three or four.

John’s true talent lies with a camera. Behind Brent Stallo he is one of the most talented still photographers we have on staff, which is good since he’s still honing his skills with a pen and pad. He’s performed shoots for numerous gear companies in the industry, has had his work appear in nearly every motocross magazine on the shelf and is our go to guy on the west coast when it comes to photography.

His career path has included work for Final Lap Magazine, getting fired from MSR for jumping a rental car in Florida, and Vurb. John and his brother, Scott, are also the minds behind the magic that is PanicRev.org. A California based site, PanicRev is devoted to serving the motocross community through JP2their ministry. They provide track-side services throughout Southern California and free photography at many of the local motocross tracks. Additionally, in the past they have also provided support and assistance to injured riders and the survivors of deceased riders.

When John isn’t touring the country in the Vurb motor-home you can find him spending time with his lady, sipping multiple cups of coffee at Starbucks, fighting people in the men’s bathroom and taking pictures at weddings.

John’s involvement with Vurb has been instrumental over the years and we look forward to using his amazing photography for many years to come.
