Kaitlyn Morrow - 65-85 Girls
Not only did Kaitlyn win this 65-85 Girls with an impressive 1-1 performance, but she also competes against the boys in some of the tough 85 classes. Comparisons will obviously be made to Fiolek, but for now she should just continue on her own programme, win the titles she should be winning and test her speed against the guys. She definitely seems to have a bright future ahead of though, so remember the name.
Mitch Oldenburg - 150 4-Stroke Thru 16
This youngster from Texas decided that winning at his home national of Oak Hill hadn't given him enough recognition, so straight off the gate, he's been hauling the mail here in Oklahoma. Kiesel and Martin made it tough for him in this 150 4-Stroke class but he found ways to beat both of them and come away with a 1-1. I think everyone now realises this kid is the real deal and is definitely one of the favorites for a Loretta's title next week.
Stilez Robertson - PW Stk 4-6
After a close race in moto one, Stilez put on the burners and destroyed the field in moto two. By our calculations he was at least 10 seconds up after one lap and continually pulled away, leaving nobody any doubt as to who is the best PW Stk 4-6 rider here this week.
Dean Wilson - 250 Stk Pro & 450 Stk Pro
Dean Wilson... Scottish, Canadian, or American; call him what you will but it all translates into raw speed. He pulled a decisive holeshot in the 450 Stock Pro class and looked as if he was tip toeing around the freshly watered track. Apparently he did not take enough precaution because on lap two he slid out and handed the lead to Lowell Spangler. Dean got back up and immediately found his groove again and started to chip away at the fourteen second gap he needed to traverse in order to overtake Lowell and get the championship. After five or six amazing passes he found his way to the 427 machine and took the title while Justin Weeks took the moto win. The 250 Stock Pro was more of the same with "Dean-o" in the lead, out of the hole, only this time he made it stick. Weeks' seemed to be the only real threat to Dean but was unable to make a move.
Brad Allison - 450 Stk Nov
In the past we have only seen a handful of riders come of the C class and actually make an impact on motocross. Oscar Diaz, Michael Lapaglia, and Jimmy Albertson all dominated the novice class in a similar way to Brad Allison. Could this young Honda rider out of Vegas be the next big thing in amateur motocross? Stay tuned for more...
Erica Cook - 125-250 Women Non-Pro
In moto one, Erica finished 50 seconds behind the winner Kasie Creson and 40 seconds behind 2nd placed Jennifer Burton, so going into the second motos, we don't think anyone was expecting the #122 to cross the line in first. But that's exactly why we run the races, because on the second lap, Creson crashed and Burton ran into the downed bike. This gave Cook the opportunity she needed, riding a clean, solid moto and keeping her nerve to win her first ever national title. Congrats Erica.
Zach Freeberg - 450 4-Stroke Non-Pro
After a Loretta Lynn first turn pile up last year it was uncertain if Zack Freeberg would even return to the amateur motocross scene. Now almost a year later he's putting his Caniade Motosport.com ride on the top step of the intermediate class. While his week started off a little shaky with a "J-law" type jump of the gate, he has found the speed he needed to win the 450 4 stroke non-pro title.
